Puriscal
County is one of 20 counties that make up the San Jose Metropolitan Area.
Far west of the downtown San Jose area, the mountainous region is known for
its perfect climate, coffee and tobacco farms, and the new La Cangreja National
Park.
The town of Santiago de Puriscal Costa Rica has gained fame for its cigar
manufacturing and coffee production. A quaint and tranquil mountainous area,
Santiago de Puriscal offers rural rainforest just a short drive from the
main city.
The national park is host to vacation travel and educational research, as
well as lodging and accommodations for tourists at Rancho Mastatal.
