an elevation of 1130 meters and with a population of 70,000, Alajuelita County
is one of 20 counties comprising the Metropolitan Area of the San Jose, the
capital city of Costa Rica.
Alajuelita is on the southwest outskirts of the downtown San Jose area.
Alajuelita is known for the neighborhoods of Concepcion on the Rio Canas,
Bellavista at the Rio Limon, Lagunilla on the Rio Tiribi, and San Josecito
at Honda and Chinchilla Creeks.
