San Ramon County Costa Rica
San Ramon Costa Rica is a rural mountain town on the primary map
route to Arenal Volcano. The northern portion of the Canton borders the Arenal
Lake Dam, Costa Rica's largest hydroelectric generation project.
Located within the Arenal Volcano Emergency Forest Reserve and the Arenal
Tilaran Conservation Area, accommodations, activities and tourist attractions
in San Ramon include bed and breakfasts, rural cabins, cloud forest and rainforest
canopy tours, nature guides, birdwatching, river kayaking. Your vacation
wouldn't be complete without a visit to the butterfly and orchid farm and
the new shopping mall.
The University of Costa Rica has a campus
in San Ramon, Sede Central de Occidente. Much of the rainforest research
done at this campus includes studies of Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal.
