Heredia County Costa Rica
Heredia is a small city with many historical and cultural attractions.
It is sometimes called the "city of flowers", and still retains some of
its 18th century colonial buildings.
The Parque Central of Heredia City is the best place to see the older
buildings and historical monuments, such as the church of La Inmaculada
Concepción, a colonial tower called "El Fortín" and La
Casa de la Cultura, a museum of art and historical exhibits.
Other
vacation destinations near Heredia are the Museum of Popular Culture,
the
La Paz Waterfall Gardens, and the Cerro Dantas Wildlife Refuge,
offering
travelers lodging in rustic cabins and nature tours.
You will find the city of Heredia to be a central location for many
tourist
destinations in this region of Costa Rica. Tourists have plenty of
options
for lodging, from small suburban luxury hotels and B&Bs, mid-priced
standard
hotels, and more rustic homestays and cabin rentals.
Although it seems to be a suburban portion of San Jose, the Hotel Herradura Golf Resort
is located on the Autopista General Canas near Heredia. One of the most
famous
golf courses in the country, and a popular destination for retirement
