La Cruz Costa Rica
La Cruz canton covers the northernmost beaches of Guanacaste, and borders
with Nicaragua. The Salinas Bay and Bolaños Island are vacation destinations
for surfers, kite surfing and wind surfing.
The Santa Elena Peninsula is protected and entirely encompassed in the Santa
Rosa National Park. Playa Nancite is a large beach and turtle nesting site,
with a biological station nearby. The Murcielagos islands are a popular destination
for scuba divers, as the waters are protected for the diversity of marine
species.
Hotels and accommodations in the La Cruz Area include beach and ocean view
lodging, as well as cabins and guest houses in the inland mountains of the
Guanacaste National Park.
