Detailed County Road Map
of
Buenos Aires Costa Rica
The Canton of Buenos Aires covers a vast territory of the Pacific
Talamanca
slope, inland from Dominical, Palmar, and Sierpe. This vast mountainous
region
is primarily Protected Lands and Indian Reservaitons. Several
indigenous
reserves of the Bribri, Cabecar and Boruca tribes are interesting
examples
of sustainable ecotourism, providing lodging and vacation activities,
as
well as practicing community projects based on various methods of
organic
agriculture.
The main InterAmerican Highway leads from Perez Zeledon through the
valley
of the El General River, and on through Buenos Aires. The highway then
makes
a sharp turn westward, winding alongside the Terraba River and leading
to
the intersection with the Costaner highway at Palmar.
