Aguirre Canton Costa Rica
Aguirre Canton is the home of the city of Quepos and the entrance to
the famous Manuel Antonio National Park. The coastal highway from Damas
to
Quepos is usually in good condition, but be careful at bridges, which
can
be narrow. Watch for yield signs at one-lane bridges, and take care to
drive
slowly.
Quepos is famous for its sportfishing tourism, hosting many
international
fishing tournaments due to its excellent reputation for Pacific
sailfish.
The beaches of Manuel Antonio are a vacation wonderland, plenty of
activities
for everyone. Hiking and naturalist guides for birdwatching, kayaking,
ATV,
watersports of all kinds.
South of Manuel Antonio and Quepos, you will find miles long stretches
of
uninterrupted beaches of Aguirre: Playa Savegre, Matapalo, Platanillo
and
Hatillo are developing into expat communities with vacation rental
houses
available for tourists with a wish for a quiet beach vacation.
