Pococi
County Costa Rica is bounded on the south by the Parismina River, and
on
the north by the rainforests of the Barra del Colorado border with
Nicaragua.
The famous Tortuguero National Park dominates the Caribbean Coast here.
Several
world wide educational and conservation institutions have established
sea
turtle research stations throughout the beach area and the Tortuguero
Canals.
The typical directions for driving to the Tortuguero region include
taking
the Guapiles highway to Limon, then hiring a boat taxi at Moin. Once
there,
you will find plenty of hotels and lodges. Nature guides have boat
tours
of the canals and back water areas behind Tortuguero, either with
motors
or row boats.
