Talamanca County, Costa Rica
Some
of the densest rainforests in Costa Rica are on the inland Caribbean
slopes
of the Talamanca Mountain Range. Much of this land is protected by
wildlife
refuges and Indian reservations of the Bribri and Cabecar.
The coastal beaches include Cahuita National Park, with is entrance at
Hone
Creek. Puerto Viejo de Talamanca is famous for its Caribbean flair and
excellent
surfing. The Sixaola district borders with Panama, with the beaches and
wildlife
refuge of Gandoca Manzanillo.
There is excellent opportunity for scuba diving at the coral reefs near
Punta Uva, Cahuita, Playa Cocles and Gandoca-Manzanillo.
